October has been full of spooky stories and haunted nights, we’ve been brewing something far more exciting in our dev cauldron. No tricks, just plenty of treats from the MarsBased team.
This month, we’ve been shaping new projects, launching fresh updates, and sharing stories that remind us why we love building software, from smarter Rails features to conversations that go beyond code.
Our latest work keeps pushing for performance, reliability, and craftsmanship: the kind of magic we actually believe in.

 | | | | Midudev: authenticity, community and the human side of development:

We had the pleasure of hosting Miguel Ángel Durán, better known as Midudev, one of the most influential creators in the Spanish-speaking tech world, followed by more than 3 million people.
In this episode, we explore the human side of programming: what it means to build a community with purpose, stay authentic while leading millions, and keep learning through constant improvement or, as Midu calls it, Kaizen.
He also shares fascinating stories from his journey, including how he and his team developed the website for La Velada del Año, which hit 10 million visits, and how open collaboration turned into a project with over 400 contributors.

Watch the full episode on YouTube and discover why authenticity is still the most powerful tool in tech. |

In this special episode, our very own David Cajal (Kajal Napalm) part of the MarsBased marketing team, shares his journey from building a YouTube channel with over 780,000 subscribers to rediscovering his passion for music on stage.
He opens up about the real numbers behind monetization and brand deals, the creative burnout that comes with algorithmic pressure, and the shift from digital creator to frontman of Metallijam, a Metallica tribute band where he performs just for the love of it.
It’s an honest reflection on ego, authenticity, and the fragile balance between art, passion, and making a living in the world of entertainment.
🎧 A raw and personal conversation that reminds us: success isn’t measured in views, it’s measured in how much you still enjoy creating. |

 | | | | | | New portfolio: Boston Consulting Group |

Some projects remind us why we love building software.
Together with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), we developed advanced applications that make energy-asset planning smarter and more intuitive,  transforming complex data models into clear, actionable insights.
BCG brought world-class strategy and analytics. We brought the code, the craftsmanship, and the care to turn it into something real.
The result: powerful tools that help teams make better decisions, faster.
We’re proud of the work, but even prouder of the partnership.

Rails 8.1 introduces Active Job Continuations, a new feature that changes how we handle long-running jobs. With it, background processes can now pause and resume without losing progress, even after a restart or deployment.
No more restarts from zero. No more inconsistent data. Just smooth, reliable execution.
In our latest post, José Luis Estébanez explains how this new feature works under the hood, why it matters for real-world Rails apps, and what makes it different from existing approaches like job-iteration.
If you care about reliability, performance, and clean background processing, this one’s worth a read.
Read the full article on our blog and see how Active Job Continuations can simplify your next Rails deployment. |

We have just released version 2.1.0 of Svgpack, led by Javier Artero, bringing two major improvements to the project.
This update introduces new React components (SvgpackMaskandSvgpackBackground) for seamless SVG integration in React applications, along with full TypeScript support to improve type safety and developer experience.
With this release, Svgpack adopts a component-based architecture that works directly with the CSS variables generated by the library, making it easier to build consistent and scalable interfaces.
