The challenge

Moody's is a textbook case of a legacy financial institution reinventing itself: heavy investment in quantum computing and, as the Harvard Business Review reported, an all-in bet on generative AI.

The open question was whether agentive AI and VR, two technologies with no playbook yet, could change how their executives make decisions. The brief:

  • Real-time financial data and news inside the experience.

  • AI agents executives could interrogate for scenario analysis.

  • An interface that holds up in the hands of a C-suite audience, not just in a lab.

Testing that required a development partner who could ship a working prototype fast, not a slide deck.

Our approach to innovation development

We built a VR application for the Meta Quest 3, using its mixed reality capabilities.

We had no prior experience with VR, and we said so. We took the project on knowing the first deliverable was a prototype: the point was to validate the business hypothesis, not to polish every wrinkle.

The result puts the user in a room with three specialised agents (a Super News Agent, a Corporate Researcher, and an Investment & Ratings Consultant), each backed by live data pipelines.

  • Agentive AI: each avatar specialises in one domain (market analysis, geopolitical risk, financial forecasting) and answers in conversation.

  • Live data: the agents work from real-time feeds, so answers reflect the market as it is, not a canned demo script.

  • Built for executives: no gaming reflexes required; the interface assumes it's your first time in a headset.

Tech stack

Frontend

AI integration

Custom agentive AI models tailored to financial analytics.

Data processing

Real-time data pipelines using Python and Node.js.

Hardware

Optimised for Meta Quest 3's mixed reality features.

Results

Moody's demos the product openly. Sergio Gago, their Managing Director of AI & Quantum at the time, presented the solution at our own event, the Corporate Innovation Summit, and at the Mobile World Congress.

The VR solution gives Moody's executives:

  • Faster, better-informed decisions through conversations with specialised AI agents.

  • Complex financial data visualised in an intuitive 3D environment.

  • Shared VR sessions for collaborative analysis across teams.

After a successful launch, we're now building the second phase and contributing to other AI initiatives within Moody's. It's the kind of long-term innovation development for corporates we like best: bleeding-edge technology that actually ships.
