There is truly nothing like reuniting the whole MarsBased team in an incredible natural setting. This year, we packed our bags and headed to the beautiful Hotel Terradets in Cellers for our Martian Retreat Pyrenees 2026. After a year of hard work, remote collaboration, and reaching new milestones, it was time to disconnect from our daily routines to reconnect with each other.
Here is a look back at everything we did during our time in the mountains.

We kicked off the retreat on Wednesday, taking the bus together from Barcelona straight into the heart of nature. Once we arrived and settled in, the first order of business was to simply unwind.
Before diving into the main events, we took the afternoon to enjoy the surroundings. Some of us explored the peaceful paths around the Terradets lake, while others relaxed by the pool to soak up the sun. Of course, it would not be a Martian Retreat without a little friendly competition! We had some epic padel matches that set the energy high for the rest of the trip. After working up an appetite, we closed the first day with a great dinner at the hotel.

Thursday was the core of our retreat, dedicated to our official Martian Day. We gathered in the morning for a comprehensive company update, opening the floor to share our experiences and insights. It was highly rewarding to review our progress, celebrate our achievements and work anniversaries, and discuss our biggest learnings from the past year.
After the mental workout, it was time to get moving. We traded our laptops for outdoor gear and split up for some afternoon adventures. Some of the team took on the mountain trails on e-bikes, while others hit the water for a kayaking session. A few even opted for some well-deserved massage sessions to truly unwind.
To wrap up an already perfect day, we headed to the picturesque town of Àger. We visited the Parc Astronòmic del Montsec for an unforgettable stargazing experience. Standing under the clear night sky together, despite the evening chill, was the ultimate way to connect.

For our final full day of activities, we decided to make the absolute most of the local scenery. We started the morning with a scenic road trip, taking in the breathtaking Camarasa cliffs before stopping for a hike around the impressive Sant Llorenç de Montgai reservoir and dam.
By lunchtime, we had worked up a serious appetite and sat down for a truly memorable meal, where we had the chance to try what many consider to be some of the best meatballs in the world, made from the famous local “Xisqueta” lamb. After lunch, we headed to a nearby town to do some local sightseeing and shopping.
Once we returned to the hotel, we spent a relaxed afternoon playing a few rounds of King of Dice and some strategic matches of chess. Following our farewell dinner, the evening's entertainment kicked off at the ping pong table, where we uncovered Daniel’s unexpected hidden talent for the sport. To wrap up the night, we brought the board games back out for a highly entertaining session of Saboteur, sharing plenty of laughs as we navigated the world of mines, dwarves, and secret saboteurs. It was the absolute best way to bring this incredible trip to a close.

On Saturday morning, we packed up and began our journey back to Barcelona. We left the Pyrenees feeling refreshed, inspired, and more connected as a team than ever before.
A huge thank you to everyone at MarsBased who made this getaway so special. The Martian Retreat Pyrenees 2026 was truly one for the books, and we are already looking forward to the next one!
