HappyScribe, a Barcelona-based tech company specializing in AI-powered transcription and subtitling, came to us with a familiar challenge: their marketing team was constrained by a legacy CMS that made even the smallest website update a technical bottleneck.
As the company scaled, so did its need for agility. Every new campaign, product update, or landing page required engineering support, slowing down growth and limiting experimentation. With a redesigned website set to launch in early 2025, HappyScribe knew it was time for a change.
HappyScribe’s tools are trusted globally by content creators, journalists, researchers, and audiovisual teams. But internally, their own marketing efforts were being held back. Their CMS wasn’t built for marketers; it was slow, rigid, and required constant support from developers.
At the same time, like many fast-growing scale-ups, their internal engineering team needed to stay focused on core product development. This meant marketing-related tasks such as new pages or content updates were often delayed or deprioritized.
It is a common scenario we have seen across our client base. This is exactly where MarsBased fits in.
HappyScribe decided to delegate all marketing and web development tasks to MarsBased, just like other fast-growing clients such as Rakuten.tv and Localistico.
We proposed and executed a full migration to Sanity CMS, a powerful headless content platform that gives marketing teams full autonomy while offering flexibility and customization for developers.
Alongside the migration, we completely redesigned the website to align with modern UX and design best practices. The new structure is clean, flexible, and built to scale.
To ensure a smooth transition, we implemented a progressive deployment strategy. The old site remained live while new updates were gradually integrated from a staging environment. This allowed for continuous validation, thorough testing, and zero downtime.
The outcome speaks for itself:
Full autonomy for the marketing team, who can now publish and manage content without relying on developers.
A modern, responsive design that is optimized for all devices and aligned with HappyScribe’s brand identity.
New functionalities, including dedicated pages for guides and case studies.
A timely launch, supported by a rigorous QA process and excellent feedback from the client.
This project is a clear example of how MarsBased enables fast-growing companies to move quickly by removing friction between marketing and engineering. As a fully integrated external partner, we helped each team focus on what they do best.
If your CMS is slowing you down as your business scales, let’s talk. We can help your content team unlock its full potential, just like we did for HappyScribe.
We have compared the most popular CMS built with Ruby on Rails according to user experience, flexibility to develop on top of them and other Martian criteria.

Previously, we have tried solutions such as Locomotive, Maglev, among others, but we have finally decided to integrate Strapi with Remix in our development projects. In this post, we want to share the reasons behind this decision, highlighting the technical aspects and key advantages of this combination.
