Our CSS guidelines are live

MarsBased CSS guidelines

We just added a CSS guide to the public MarsBased Handbook. It isn't a tutorial: it explains how we organise styles on our frontend projects, from design tokens and variants to themes, breakpoints and the things we'd rather avoid.

Tailwind v4 is our default, and there's a dedicated section for projects that don't use it. Accessibility runs through the whole guide, from visible focus states to respecting reduced motion. Thanks to Marta for writing it, and to Anna and Carlos for reviewing it.

[AI at MarsBased]

How we use AI: our first AI guidelines

Xavi published the first version of our AI guidelines. They cover how we communicate AI-assisted work, how we use it to grow, how we review AI-generated code and how we keep it secure. The core idea: AI should help us do better work, but we stay responsible for understanding and validating everything we produce with it.

Supabase is acquiring Turso

Carlos shared this one: Supabase is acquiring Turso, the team that rebuilt SQLite in Rust. The goal is database infrastructure built for AI agents, where spinning up a database is as cheap and easy as creating a file. Supabase will keep building around Postgres, Turso will keep working on SQLite, and nothing changes for existing users.

Rune

Àlex came across Rune, an open-source IDE and terminal multiplexer built for both manual coding and AI agents. It's native, GPU-accelerated and lets you pick up your workspace from any of your machines.

Engineering is not programming

Juan Salvador recommends this calm take on how AI is changing our careers. As agents write more of the code, the valuable skills move up a level: framing problems, architecture and judgment.

Keep Claude Code's signature out of your commits

• Turn it off in your settings: By default, Claude Code adds a co-author line, a "Generated with Claude Code" footer and a session link to commits and PRs. Set the attribution object in ~/.claude/settings.json to empty values (and sessionUrl to false) to remove them.

• Don't rely on prompts alone: Writing "don't add attribution" in CLAUDE.md doesn't work reliably. Config and a commit-msg git hook that strips those lines are deterministic, so use them instead.
