Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the way we work and at MarsBased, we’re fully embracing that change. In January 2025, we set off to completely transform how we work, by testing and adopting AI tools and methodologies. For a year, we spread out, opened our minds, tinkered with many different things until we converged on a set of tools and methodologies that shape now the way we work. One year in the making, now it's sufficiently battle-tested, so we started working with it in January 2026.
Our goal is simple: use AI to make our workflows faster, smarter, and more consistent across both technical and non-technical teams.
Our development team uses Claude Code to enhance coding productivity. We allowed every developer to choose the AI assistant that fits their personal workflow best in the past, but with the December 2025 model releases, Claude stood out as the best option. Since then, we have standardised it as the go-to AI tool for coding in the company.
This centralisation ensures three things:
We have been working with Claude Code exclusively for over half a year now and although things might change - Codex and other tools might improve significantly - we see value in sticking to this stack, consolidating it and building upon it, to acquire true mastery.
For the rest of the company (marketing, design, operations, and product management) ChatGPT was our go-to tool and we also have access to Google Gemini through Google Workspace, but Claude has become our standard as well. This helps to blend better with the development experience and share tips and tricks across the team.
Gemini, on the other hand, is seeing marginal use because it's simply not good enough. It fails to deliver even on the basic tasks, like searching through our Google Drive and finding a document. We will keep testing it on a regular basis because we've got it included on our Google Workspace plan, but Claude has an upper hand on it.
We've also built several custom skills tailored to MarsBased’s specific needs. Claude helps us automate repetitive tasks and maintain consistency across our communications and operations. Some of the custom skills we've developed include:
Finally, we make good use of AI features within our project management tools, especially Linear, which we use for project tracking. Linear's AI triage helps us automatically classify issues, assign labels, and detect duplicates, saving valuable time for the team, among other features we've reviewed in another blog post: Linear AI: Is it any good?.
AI is not a side tool at MarsBased because we've decided to fully embrace this revolution - where it matters. From code generation to task management and communication, these technologies help us focus on what delivers more value: building great digital products and making our life less complicated.
As AI tools continue to evolve, we’ll keep refining our internal stack, experimenting, and sharing what we learn along the way.
How MarsBased uses Claude and Linear to automate PM workflows, shifting the role from administrative tasks to strategic product thinking.
